Manor Township has added a traffic control trailer to its equipment inventory. The road crew will use it during road maintenance projects, and emergency services will use it during major emergencies, such as severe weather events, that require extended road closures.
The trailer will carry 10 six-foot barricades equipped with reflective tape and blinking lights, six road closed signs with stands, and other traffic control devices. Supervisor Palmer, who led the project, said it had been in development for years because of the cost and the time needed to budget and fund it. The old equipment was damaged, outdated, and no longer usable, creating safety concerns for the road crew, emergency responders, and motorists. With this new trailer, the Township can now manage roadway traffic more safely and effectively when needed.
